“My name is Prisha Gowda and I am KKNY youth president. I have been involved with KKNY and volunteering for several years, experiencing many opportunities throughout those years. KKNY committee members gave great support allowing for the facilitation of programs for the youth. I have sincere appreciation for the Executive committee and Kannada Koota community for providing me with opportunities to express myself and allow other youth to express themselves as well. Being a part of KKNY and being youth president provided a great opportunity and an experience that I will always remember. Due to the extreme help of the KKNY committee, and Badri Uncle, The Youth were able to Flourish. ”

KKNY BAKE SALE
KKNY youth members were involved in a bake sale to raise funds for KKNY. This took place in July 2023 & July 2024. KKNY youth including members such as Prisha, Anvi, Danika and Saishaa hosted stalls for attendees to buy cookies, lemonades, fruit salad, and other items in which all proceeds went to KKNY. This was a fun experience for everyone involved because we enjoyed making these items as well as interacting with others and supporting KKNY.
GO GREEN INITIATIVE
Along with youth members Anvi and Vedita, I worked with Dr. Sharada Jayagopal to promote the environmental-friendly practices. We did a Go Green campaign during the Kannada Koota Annual Picnic. Dr. Sharada Jayagopal has also generously donated proceeds to help us purchase eco-friendly food serving cutlery. The Executive Committee is exploring various ways to make this happen.

The exhibit included Ganesha corner, South Indian Marriage set, Govardhana giri and Samudra Manthan. This was a great opportunity for all our members and youth members to experience and learn about our culture. It provides a unique experience for all devotees and kids about hindu tradition and culture. Around more than 35 KKNY kids participated in a quiz, competition & conversations about Gombe Habba.Thank you Lakshmi aunty and Shankar uncle for this wonderful experience and opportunity.

GANESHA HABBA
During Ganesha habba 2023 celebrations, KKNY youth committee members participated in cultural programs like singing and dancing. We were actively involved in gift packing, decorations and assisting our KKNY leaders in kitchen and stage management. KKNY youth members participated in Dr Shankar Shantaram's play. We had active roles in that play and enjoyed every moment of it. This was a great opportunity for many of the youth members to have great stage experience, dance and acting. We also assisted in the event by volunteering in decorations, serving food in the kitchen and stage management. KKNY youth committee members are key contributors for the success of these events.
