It is my honor and privilege to be the president of Kannada Koota of New York . My goal is to have increased participation of KKNY members on all events and activities. We need to increase the participation of our members, especially the youth.
Speaking of activities, we need to try something new. Sticking to the familiar ones, we give up on the infinite possibilities of entertaining and enriching ourselves to the culture we came with. “Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.” Those are John F. Kennedy’s words of wisdom on change.
So, change is a necessity for anyone that desires to grow and achieve something worthwhile in life. That is why it is so important to critically examine ourselves, our habits and our perceptions so that we do not get stuck in time and live out the same things over and over again year after year.
We have had a good start with our first event of celebrating Mother's Day and are ready for a Father's Day outing on June 18th, 2016. We will also celebrate KKNY's traditional picnic on July 9th 2016. Please join us on all our activities and events. Please continue to support Kannada language, art, culture, literature and heritage.
